SLIBA AT CRICKET!

The annual inter broker cricket six a side was held on the 21th of November 2009  at the NCC grounds in Colombo. Generously sponsored each year by Chartis Insurance Ltd this year the tournament was bigger than ever with 26 teams participating and Chartis has spared no expense to ensure that the day would be filled with fun and merriment.

Inaugurated in 2007 by our Immediate Past President Mr. Sunil Siyasena, the tournament is a means to foster fellowship among the broker fraternity.

Chartis in Sri Lanka has been in the forefront of supporting and encouraging insurance brokers and SLIBA thanks Mr. Chris Targaris Managing Director,Mr. Deepthi Lokuarachchi Assistant Managing Director and their team for their ready sponsorship of the tournament. A special word of thanks to Mr. Jude Benjamin of Chartis for all the hard work in coordinating the tournament.

Unfortunately, the weather Gods were in a bad mood and by noon the torrent of water falling from the skies prevented progress of the tournament. However, this did not prevent participants maintaining high spirits and bonhomie which lasted well into the evening.
