About Us
The Sri Lanka Insurance Brokers Association (SLIBA) is the central organization for all registered insurance brokers in Sri Lanka. SLIBA is involved with elevating the status of its membership, safeguarding and advancing their interests whilst enhancing their general efficiency, technical knowledge and professional conduct. The organization aims to foster a class of insurance intermediaries who are technically competent, professional in their outlook and conduct, which the insuring public can depend on in accessing truly independent and expert insurance services and advice.
Among the objectives of SLIBA is the training and education of insurance brokers, to scrutinize legislation which effects the operations of the insurance industry, to act as an arbitrator between Members on disputes relating to the practice of insurance and to shape future positive development of the industry and SLIBA.
Membership in SLIBA is mandatory for the granting and the annual renewal of the license given to members by the Insurance Board of
Sri Lanka which governs and regulates the industry.

President's Message
I am both delighted and humbled to have been elected President of SLIBA for the year 2025/26. This is not just a personal honour, but a shared opportunity for us to move forward together under the theme of Sustainable Growth and Professionalism. This vision reflects both our responsibility to the industry and our commitment to strengthening the role of brokers in Sri Lanka’s insurance landscape.
The year ahead is about expanding our reach, strengthening insurance penetration, and ensuring brokers play a bigger role in shaping the industry. With the support of the insurance regulator, our plans will drive progress while keeping compliance and integrity at the heart of all we do.
Professionalism means action: training for broker staff, a newsletter to share insights, and a stronger voice through our new sub-committees on education, ethics, communications, and compliance. These initiatives will raise our reputation and reinforce our standing with insurers and regulator alike.
We are also building for the future; establishing a permanent SLIBA Secretariat, preserving our history, and ensuring transparent governance. At the same time, we will celebrate our community with fellowship activities, from sports and quizzes to knowledge-sharing sessions.
Let’s commit to growth without waste, professionalism without compromise, and unity without hesitation. With your active participation, SLIBA will not only grow, it will thrive. Together, we rise.
